The TutorTap Honor Code defines TutorTap's high standards for students and tutors in academic work and provides a policy on how they should conduct themselves when using the TutorTap platform.

TutorTap’s platform was developed to connect tutors with students. It is not a platform to exchange answers, complete or help on tests or quizzes, complete assignment answers, edit a student’s work/writing, provide sources for a paper, or summarize a student’s required reading. Effective tutoring is more than providing or confirming answers to assignment/homework questions. TutorTap encourages problem-solving approaches, helping students comprehend methods and concepts needed to complete assignments on their own instead of giving them the answer and working backward.
Students who require writing assistance should ask to be matched with a writing expert. TutorTap understands that many classes and courses require students to present their learning in prescribed forms of academic writing, such as essays. However, students who have requested to be matched with a tutor in a different subject matter (i.e., Math, Literature, Biology) may not expect the tutor to be an expert in essay writing.
TutorTap understands the pressures inherent to an academic environment. School can be stressful, and that stress may lead students to the temptation to cheat. However, as a student, you may not use the TutorTap platform to participate in academic dishonesty of any form. The TutorTap platform brings together tutors and students so that tutors can help you understand the methods and concepts required to complete assignments on your own. You may not ask tutors to help with or complete tests, or quizzes, complete assignment answers, edit your work/writing, provide you with sources for a paper, summarize your required reading, nor request answers without engaging in the required preparatory work that leads to your understanding of the assignment methods and concepts.
A Quality Assurance team may monitor and review any tutoring sessions conducted on or messages exchanged through the TutorTap platform and will suspend users immediately if there is any indication of cheating or attempts to cheat.
Academic Grades are the Responsibility of your Instructor/Teacher and not the Tutor
While rapport and trust between the student and the tutor are critical elements of a successful tutoring relationship, as a student, you are not entitled to promises or guarantees from the tutor about what grade you might earn on an assignment. So please, do not ask your tutor. Students are not guaranteed any particular performance grade on a test or an assignment as a result of receiving tutoring through the TutorTap platform.
Students are hereby notified that to find tutors using the TutorTap platform, all billing and payments must take place on the TutorTap platform. Students must never share their credit card or personal information with a tutor. Under no circumstance should students or tutors share or exchange their email, phone number, social media information, or login information to any site, nor conduct personal discussions unrelated to learning. The student/tutor relationship must be conducted exclusively online. Students who do not comply with this policy may be immediately reported to TutorTap’s Quality Assurance team and suspended from the TutorTap platform.
Furthermore, students and tutors must treat each other with respect and refrain from using profanity, foul language, insults, slurs, threats, or any negatively charged, discriminatory language or behavior. Violation of this policy will result in immediate suspension of the user from the TutorTap platform.
